Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

In light of the decline in COVID cases in our community and the NY Metro area and as long as COVID indicators show a low level of risk and we see no unexpected changes, starting Monday, March 14 mask-wearing on campus will become optional for most students and employees. We ask everyone to honor and care for one another by being respectful and supportive of each person’s decision to wear or not wear a mask. All members of our Nyack community should feel safe and comfortable in their learning, working, and living environments.

Please note the following individuals continue to be required to wear masks on campus:

  • Unvaccinated individuals with an approved medical or religious exemption to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, and
  • Individuals, regardless of vaccination status, who are asymptomatic and have been identified as a close contact of a confirmed case for 10 days after exposure.

Please be advised that we will continue to keep all other COVID-19 mitigation measures (including temperature check, health monitoring, enhanced cleaning of common areas, hand washing, weekly testing for unvaccinated individuals coming on campus, etc.) in place as we continue to monitor levels of risk and comply with state and local guidelines.
