WNYK 88.7FM February Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Donald Paine

WNYK 88.7FM Radio at Nyack College will air its February 2018 Alumni Spotlight, featuring Dr. Donald Paine on Tuesday, February 20 at 4:00 p.m.; Friday, January 26 at 4:00 p.m.; Wednesday February 21, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.; and Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.

The 1971 alumnus earned his degree in history. He credits Nyack College with teaching him five important “R’s"–resilience, restoration, reunion, respect and responsibility.” During his Nyack years, he was named the “1968 Basketball Rookie of the Year” and received the 1971 Sportsmanship Award.

Since 1986, Don has been chaplain for the New York City Marathon and leads a worship service for runners on the morning of the marathon. He has run 30 NYC marathons and has expanded the ministry to other marathons in the U.S., Canada and Europe.  

A participant in Nyack's Running Warrior 3K Walk and 5K Road Race, during Homecoming Weekend 2012, the running enthusiast received the Personal Transformation Award for “exemplifying the integration of faith, learning, and spiritual transformation to fulfill God’s call to a life of influence."
