The December Alumni Spotlight of the Month on WNYK 88.7 FM will feature 2018 Nyack College alumna Sarah Dunlap. In February of this year, Sarah joined Scottie Public Affairs in Pittsburgh as an associate, working with clients to develop communications and social media strategies. The interview will air on Monday, December 14 at 1:00 PM; Wednesday, December 16 at 3:00 PM and Friday, December 18 at 11:00 AM.
It’s no surprise that Sarah would secure a communications position–even in a year when the marketplace is more competitive than usual. During her time at Nyack, she served as a prolific student blogger for Nyack’s Marketing Department. She also landed a summer internship, working remotely with a non-profit, The Borgen Project, based in Seattle, Washington. The group advocates for making poverty a focus of U.S. foreign policy. Her role including writing for The Borgen Project’s magazine and blog, reporting on global poverty and sustainability. After completing her Nyack degree in English and graduating summa cum laude, she returned to home state of Pennsylvania.
Prior to her position at Scottie Public Affairs, Sarah was a freelance writer. Her articles on health and wellness, business and local news have been published in NEXTpittsburgh and Pittsburgh Business Times.
