An interview with Nyack College 2011 alumnus Jamel Wright aired on WNYK 88.7FM Warrior Radio Wednesday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m. and will reair on Thursday, September 27 at 4:00 p.m. and Friday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m.
The communications major is currently enrolled in a master’s degree program at Alliance Theological Seminary concentrating in Christian studies. He completed one year of service as a youth mentor with the Providence, Rhode Island branch of AmeriCorps, the national program that engages the needs of communities in areas such as improving academic achievement, mentoring youth, preparing for natural disasters, conservation of national parks and much more.
Exemplifying the Nyack College tradition of serving others, today Jamel is a firefighter with the Jackson Fire Engine #3 in Nyack, NY. He completed training this year, successfully passed his final exam in June and will attend his graduation ceremony next month.
