WNYK 88.7 FM October 2019 Alumnus of the Month: Shaun J. Patterson

WNYK 88.7 FM will air an interview with Shaun J. Patterson on Wednesday, October 23 at 11:00 AM; Friday October 25 at 3:00 PM; and Tuesday, October 29 at 9:00 AM. He is a 2012 alumnus of Nyack College (BS in pastoral ministry), a 2017 alumnus of Alliance Theological Seminary (MA in Biblical Studies), and currently serves as assistant director of Nyack’s Higher Educational Opportunity Program.

The Paterson, NJ native has extensive experience in community development, academic enrichment and program management. He has been recognized for his exemplary service during his college and seminary studies as well as in communities throughout the Metropolitan area. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, he received Outstanding Leadership Awards at Nyack, where he served as member of the Student Government Association . For exceptional involvement in his community, he received the Dr. Jessie Dixon Award for Outstanding Community Service and Spiritual Leadership. His civic contributions earned him special citations for community service from both local and state government in New Jersey.

At Memorial Sloan Kettering, the nation’s leading hospital for cancer patients, Shaun served as Clinical Interfaith Chaplain and completed more than 300 hours of coursework in pastoral education. In 2018, Rev. Patterson was named the fifth senior pastor of Triumphant Life Community Church in Trenton, NJ, a thriving congregation whose mission is to be “a church in the community for the community.”

Shaun is a devoted husband to Sheree Patterson, a 2012 Nyack College alumna. They are the proud parents of two wonderful boys, Liam and Logan. Their lovely family awaits a new addition, Laiya, who is expected to arrive in December 2019.
