When Nyack School of Music musicians grace the recital space with their talent at the prestigious Steinway Hall located at 1133 Avenue of the Americas at 43rd Street on November 4 at 7:00 PM, music alumna Chrislyn Reed will be among the performers.
A native of Hoosier, Indiana she earned a degree in piano performance at Nyack College and studied under the late Dr. Paul Liljestrand. After her four years of what she describes as “excellent training and musical opportunities, the highlight being winning the Piano Concerto Competitions in 1986 and 1987,” she graduated in 1989.
Versatile and talented, she is highly sought after as an accompanist and performer in venues both large and small. On any given weekend you may find her playing at a worship service, with various local choirs or in front of thousands at the Indianapolis Christmas Circle of Lights. For more than twenty-five years, Chrislyn was on staff as senior editor with the PraiseGathering Music Group, one of the nation’s leading publishers of sacred choral music. The last several years, she has served as the company’s Director of Publications.
