Another milestone moment was recently added to the Nyack College story.
Nyack residential students have moved in to their beautiful, new “home away from home” at 150 Bay Street in the historic Powerhouse Arts District of Jersey City, New Jersey. This new construction is the College’s first new residence hall in over half a century.
“The Bay” is a 120,000 square foot, 414-bed residence hall where each custom-designed unit includes a full bathroom, spacious kitchenette with full-size appliances and a comfortable lounge area. Each floor features a laundry room which is open around the clock and seven days a week. Other amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, an athletic training room and onsite dining in “The Eatery.”
Vice President of Student Development and Dean of Students Wanda Velez and her staff of Resident Directors and Resident Assistants led an extraordinary effort of assisting students with their move-in to the residential hall.
Beyond academic success, leadership development and personal transformation are nurtured in Nyack students. In a recent communication, Dean Velez assured the new and returning students of Nyack’s commitment to them. “My colleagues and I believe in who you are today and in the untapped potential you will discover during your time at Nyack. We are excited about this chapter of your story and look forward to walking alongside you.”
