The Nyack College Criminal Justice Department will launch its Crime and Justice series with guest speaker Tarik Greene on Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 PM on the Zoom platform (Meeting ID: 5170682419; Passcode: 1aSs57).
Tarik Greene is deputy executive director and co-founder of M.A.D.E. (Making a Difference Everyday), an inmate re-entry support program. M.A.D.E. provides services that secure re-entry housing, employment, GED preparation, and health care guidance.
Greene created and implemented the first ever Second Chance Job Fair in Rockland County, NY for formerly incarcerated individuals. His efforts have also included serving on the Rockland County Judicial Committee for Youth, to provide first-time youth offenders with alternatives to incarceration; creating partnerships with agencies such as the Division of Criminal Justice Services; the National Institute of Corrections; acting as Rockland County liaison to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Office with the Work for Success Program; and training the staff of the Department of Labor & Workforce One to be certified as offender employment specialists.
