Nyack College Writing Center Director Prof. Beverley Locke has announced the 2018-2019 academic year “Write Down” events.
In Manhattan, the event will be held on Monday, September 24 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the 20th floor in Room 2037 at the 2 Washington Street campus. Informational presentations will be made by representatives from The Fine Print, the campus literary journal; The Forum, the campus news magazine; the Center for Scholarship & Global Engagement; the Academic Writing Group; and Get Creative.
The date of the Rockland campus event has changed to Thursday, September 27 from 9:15 PM to 11:00 PM in President’s Hall located in Shuman Hall. Reps from the same publications and writing platforms will make presentations to students on the residential campus. In addition, Loud Mouths, a group of rappers, spoken word artists, and poets who use their art to further the Kingdom of God will be at the Rockland event.
The Nyack College Writing Center offers a number of services to students on both the Rockland and Manhattan campuses—in person and online. Its mission and purpose is to influence the culture of writing at Nyack College. Prof Locke and her staff want students to be pleased with their final product, but “are even more interested in what the students glean from the immersion in the writing process.”
