Remembering Dr. Richard B. Pease, Former ATS Dean and Nyack Professor

The campus community learned of the recent passing of Dr. Richard B. Pease, Sr., former dean of Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS). Prior to his role at ATS, Dr. Pease was a professor of missiology and head of the Missiology and Religion Department at Nyack College.

The 1957 alumnus of Nyack College spent more than a half century in service to The Christian and Missionary Alliance, including 24 years of church planting, evangelism and teaching in Japan. Twice he held the title of the C&MA Japan Field Director. He pastored four churches in the United States including a Chinese Alliance Church.

In his retirement years, he continued preaching, leading youth, serving as elder in The Village Church at Shell Point Retirement Community, where he also served as pianist for church services. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, a former Nyack College professor; his children, Rick and Sharry; five grandchildren, Ricky, Brandon, Rachel, Donald, and Caroline and many loving great grandchildren.

Arrangements for the private funeral service was handled by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Florida.
