On November 10, Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary will encourage women and men to partner together, and we’re not doing it alone! #ChurchTogether Manhattan has 5 stellar sponsors who believe in and work toward this mission! Let me tell you a bit about them.
I invited CBE International because its entire history and mission have been devoted to empowering women and men as leaders in Christian ministry. They don’t stop there. They believe “that the Bible, properly interpreted, teaches the fundamental equality of men and women of all ethnic groups, all economic classes, and all age groups. . .” I have long been affiliated with CBE, writing blog posts, magazine articles, an academic article, and even doing a workshop for their international conference. I am happy they’ve chosen to team with us to further this cause!
WOW! Women of Wonder
It was at an unexpected place and time that I met someone on the board of WOW! (Women of Wonder). That “chance” meeting developed into a vital relationship full of respect for this organization that desires “to build a legacy for future generations of Christian sisters to dream big and follow God’s call in their lives.” WOW! Executive director, Grace May decided to team with us to provide a regional venue rather than doing it on their own. You will be delighted to learn more about this organization and will want to invite them to teach in your church!
Many Christians are familiar with the Navigators as a publisher, but it is also a vital ministry. Navigators NYC seeks “to Know Christ and to Make Him Known” throughout the five boroughs. They want the people who inhabit and work in NYC to have access to the life-changing message of the gospel. Their table at our event will highlight their different ministries; empowering people to serve the Lord is at the heart of their identity.
Stanwich Church, host of last year’s SheLeads Missio Alliance Summit, is our final sponsor. From its founding, this church has supported women and men in ministry. Not only has it empowered them at the church in Greenwich, CT, but the current pastor of the church plant in Stamford is ATS alumna Gina Choi. Stanwich has played a role in my spiritual formation and has a wide and impactful ministry.
I am proud to be a part of the Metropolitan District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Since the days of the founder, the Christian and Missionary Alliance has encouraged women and men to pursue the call of God on their lives. To further that vision, the Metro District teams with Nyack ATS to provide training for women through a program called Empower. Empower educates and provides spiritual formation for women both nationally and internationally. As a member of its leadership team, I deeply believe in Empower, and think you will be interested in sending the women you know to learn with us!
We will give you more information about these sponsors and you will meet their leading members at the Summit. Don’t hesitate to register now; we even have discounts for groups!
