March 6 | Why We Study the Bible

Faculty members of Nyack’s College of Bible and Christian Ministry will host a special event, “Why We Study the Bible,” Wednesday, March 6 on the New York City campus, 2 Washington Street from 6:30-8:30 PM in Room 2037. Faculty presenters include Dr. Amy Davis Abdallah, Dr. David Emanuel, Dr. Jeffrey P. García and Dr. R. Steven Notley. In addition to exploring study of the Bible at Nyack College, students will gain an understanding of how these professors came to dedicate their careers to the academic study of the Bible.

Dr. Notley, Nyack’s Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins and director of Graduate Programs in Ancient Judaism and Christian Origins commented, “We wanted the opportunity for our students to hear what motivates the Bible faculty in their study of the Bible. This may include sharing our faith journey, which is usually the starting place in this pursuit; but is also the place we see for the Bible today in speaking to the complex problems that face the world in our own day.”

Plan to attend to learn what makes Nyack’s undergraduate Bible programs so distinctive!
