The tenth annual Nyack Scholars Symposium hosted by the Center for Scholarship and Global Engagement (CSGE) will be held on Thursday, March 28 at the Nyack College New York City campus, 2 Washington Street. The anniversary year theme is “Learning and Working in the 21st Century: In Search of Opportunities in a Changing Context.” The event begins with a 2:00 PM breakout session featuring Rockland County campus faculty presenters and a second breakout session at 6:00 PM with Manhattan campus faculty presenters.
For a decade, Dr. Vilma “Nina” Balmaceda, CSGE director has coordinated this event providing a platform for faculty to share papers they have presented at conferences or published in professional journals. Over the years, Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary students have also been featured or co-presenters with their professors.
This year, the plenary session at 3:30 PM moderated by Dr. Balmaceda will feature Nyack College professors. Challenges and opportunities in various fields will be addressed by Dr. Jacqueline Washington (Sciences); Dr. Kevin Pinkham (Letters and Humanities); Dr. Marie White (Education); and Dr. Gerard Becker (Business).
