Nyack School of Music adjunct professor, Damien Sneed, will take his “We Shall Overcome: A Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” on the road this month. The tour kicks off on Tuesday, January 14 at Joe’s Pub, 425 Lafayette Street in New York City with a 9:30 PM performance. The program will include classical, jazz, contemporary and R&B music that will make stops nationwide and in Canada. The King tribute will inspire audiences during the MLK holiday, as well as during Black History Month and Women’s History Month.
On Friday, January 10, 2020, Sneed will also release the deluxe edition of the 2019 CD, Damien Sneed: We Shall Overcome on his label, LeChateau Earl Records.
Prof. Sneed is a multi-genre instrumentalist, producer and conductor on the roster of IMG Artists, the global performing arts management agency. He has demonstrated his commitment to educating and recruiting students for Nyack’s School of Music. Joining the 2020 tour will be one such alumna, Chenee Campbell, a 2018 Nyack vocal performance graduate.
