Feb 15: Screening of “13th” on Nyack Rockland Campus

Nyack College Office of Student Development is sponsoring a screening of the Netflix documentary, 13th followed by a panel discussion on Thursday, February 15 from 2:20 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in Hilltop Auditorium on the Rockland County campus. Panelists include Prof. Miguel Sanchez (Criminal Justice); Nathaniel Perez (Higher Education Opportunity Program counselor); Jamila Wright (Associate Registrar and adjunct professor) and Louis Sanchez (Residence Director, Moseley Hall, pictured).

The controversial wording of the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution abolished and at the same time legalized slavery and forced labor in the United States. Come view the video and discuss how the 13th Amendment’s impact on American society affects all people and institutions.
