Fall Colloquium at Nyack Rockland on Civic Engagement

The Center for Scholarship and Global Engagement will host its 2016 Fall Colloquium Series on Wednesday, October 26 at 4:00 p.m. in President’s Hall of Shuman Hall on the Nyack College Rockland Campus.

Stephanie Summers, CEO of The Center for Public Justice (CPJ). will be the keynote speaker and lead an in-depth discussion on what it means to cultivate “rooted citizens” in our society. The Center for Public Justice is an independent, non-partisan civic education and public policy organization based in Washington, D.C.

A frequent speaker and moderator, Ms. Summers has contributed to the edited volume The Church’s Social Responsibility (Christian Library Press, 2015), and has written for several other publications. She serves on several advisory boards including the Bright Promise Fund for Urban Christian Education, the Centre for Christian Scholarship at Redeemer University College, and the Banking on the Margins project for Cardus. She earned her master’s degree in nonprofit management from Eastern University, where she holds an appointment to the Board of Fellows for the Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. She chairs the board of The McIlvaine Fund, an alumni and parent group supporting the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) campus ministry at her undergraduate alma mater, Kenyon College.
