Dr. Andrew Mercurio, program director and professor of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) at the Alliance Graduate School of Counseling (AGSC), will be a featured speaker on Thursday, November 12 at a virtual conference, “MFTS Changing the World,” hosted by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). His presentation is entitled, “Sex Therapy Assessment Strategies: Comprehensive and Systemic Tools.” The two-day conference (November 12-13) is free to AAMFT members who register.
In 2016, AGSC’s Marriage and Family Therapy degree became nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE). “Only some 120 schools/universities in the country have this accreditation,” Dr. Mercurio shares. “Among them, there are only 15 or so that are Christian, faith-based schools. Nyack’s MFT is the only COAMFTE program in New York City and the only Christian-based COAMFTE program on the East Coast between Boston and Washington, DC.
