December 10 & 15 | Celebrating Advent and Christmas


The campus community will gather to celebrate the sacred season during virtual chapel services. On Thursday, December 10,  5:00-6:30 PM, Nyack College School of Music students and faculty will present a program of sacred and seasonal music. Performers include the Christian Folk Ensemble, String Orchestra, Chamber Music Ensemble, Nyack Chorale, Jazz Band, Small Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Gospel Choir, Purpose and Drs. Sue and Dana Talley.

Portions of the Christmas story will be read by Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. David Turk; Vice President of Church Relations/Dean of the Chapel, Dr. Charles Hammond and School of Music professor, Dr. Dana Talley. Pastors and community leaders have been invited to join the campus community for the celebration on the Zoom platform.

Alliance Theological Seminary faculty, Dr. Amy Davis Abdallah and C&MA Metro District Superintendent Kelvin Walker will lead an Advent-focused service with an overarching theme of waiting. Members of the ATS community will share responses to the question “What does waiting feel like?”
