This Off-Broadway gem is another platform for showcasing the amazing gifts and talent of an amazing cast and crew. You’ll be captivated from the first heartwarming notes of “The Feeling We Once Had” to the finale’s up tempo “Everybody Rejoice!”
Nyack alumna and School of Music’s Prof. Chloe Nevill shared her response to the show.
“…as I walked into the theatre for a performance of “The Wiz,” my heart was heavy and my body tired. It had been a long, draining day. I didn’t know how well I would be able to enjoy the show. But once the lights went up, the orchestra played, and Aunt Em’s warm, rich voice began to sing to Dorothy my weariness lifted and my heart felt light.
At the end of the show, during Dorothy’s song “Home”, I was utterly blown away. When she left the stage, I could do nothing but applaud and cheer. During curtain calls, the cast reprised “Everybody Rejoice (Brand New Day)” and many audience members stood and clapped along. For one awesome moment, we all seemed to join in worship to this joyous song.
I could go on and on, but why do that when you should just go and experience this for yourselves! I can’t say enough about how marvelous this show is. It was truly a joy and a blessing!”
