Caring for Students Away From Home for the Holidays
Dr. Scott Reitz

Dr. Scott Reitz, Nyack College Associate Professor of Global Community Development and Director of Global Service-Learning, announced an exciting upcoming event that will take place on campus Thursday, November 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

“The holidays are often a difficult time to be away from family. Even more so for our International students! With this in mind,” he shared, “my Global Community Development program assistant, Christi Christner, and international student admissions counselor, Marly Frayna teamed up to oversee the plan to host a Thanksgiving meal for all international graduate and undergraduate students.”

Faculty and staff have been invited to join the nearly 100 Nyack international students in this informal setting outside of the classroom for a traditional holiday meal, desserts and hot drinks.

Dr. Reitz added, “Our goal is for this to be an opportunity to develop a deeper sense of community for students studying here in America.”
