Congratulations are in order for 2012 Nyack alumnus Brice Walborn who recently took and passed the prestigious Project Management Professional (PMP)®—the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers—the first time he sat for the exam. This credential qualifies him to work in any industry, in any geographic location and with the advantage of a 20% higher earning potential.
It’s been said that “The ladder of success is best climbed by stepping on the rungs of opportunity. “ To say Brice Walborn got his footing right sums up his steady road to promotion and to his recent achievement. He worked a plan and the plan worked.
“I began my career with Spectrum Enterprise back in 2012 as a sales support representative,” he shares. Spectrum Enterprise is a division of Charter Communications, a national provider of technology solutions serving many of America’s largest businesses and communications service providers.
“I took every opportunity to learn and grow from my managers and peers. After a year and a half, I stepped into a new role as a project coordinator, managing the overall service delivery process.”
He could have set his rise on cruise control, but the climb was just beginning.
“This role, of project coordinator, opened up doors for networking with numerous departments and exposed me to new areas of the business. This sparked in me a career goal to become a leader in the company, and I worked my way up to senior project coordinator and supervisor. Eventually, I was promoted to my current role as manager of our Northeast project management team.”
“Every step I took in this company was because someone else was extending a hand back, sharing knowledge, experience, and support. The last seven years have been a journey of personal and professional growth, which has taught me that success is a team effort and career growth comes from working hard on the tasks you are responsible for today.”
Onward and upward, Brice Walborn!
