Nyack College’s Dr. Peter Park will have you reeling!
At least that’s the hope of Dr. Park, an associate biology professor, who is also the enthusiastic advisor of the Nyack College Fishing Club. Since 2015, he’s had a following of Nyack students engaged in this hobby. He is also actively involved in New York City fish citizen efforts such as Fish Counts and Rod-and-Reel Fishing Clinics. He works with many environmental education centers throughout New York City.
Dr. Park (pictured above right) was interviewed by cable television network Spectrum NY1 about fishing clinics and the recently initiated catch-and-release fishing clinics at the 85-acre Brooklyn Bridge Park that runs along the East River in New York City. The televised segment aired Tuesday, July 16 on the 20th anniversary season of the Conservancy offering free public programming. Dr. Park discussed his role in co-organizing family-friendly events for beginners that offers participants hands-on guidance and a one-of-a-kind introduction to New York City fishing.
