
Raquel Shaffer, Office of Student Development Small Group Coordinator, has announced the launch of fall semester small groups for Alliance University students. Beginning Saturday, September 24, ten groups will be led by students, alumni, faculty and staff who have a heart for bringing people together in community.
The line-up of choices include the following
Sunday 5 pm: Taking Spiritual Authority Over My Life (Virtual)
Led by: Erica Williams
Explore spiritual disciplines including meditation, fasting and prayer.
Sunday 7 pm: Athletes for One
Led by: Maggie Kowalik, Pastor Willie Alfonso, Cheyenne Edwards and Jordan Rodriguez
In Person: At The Bay – Student Lounge
Athletes will be introduced to the 5 Athletes in Action Principles and discuss how they engage God through their sport.
Monday 6 pm: Exploring Prayer and Worship (Virtual)
Led by: Kyra Powel
Explore the different ways to pray and worship God.
Monday 7 pm: God’s Great Mystery: Chats with Doug and Tracy
Led by: Doug and Tracy Walker
In Person: At The Bay – 1st Floor Conference Room
Col 2:2 “Our goal is that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach… understanding and the knowledge of God’s great mystery, which is Christ.”
Tuesday 5 pm: Gentle and Lowly (Virtual)

Discussions on the affections of Christ for His people even when we don’t deserve His gentle mercies.

Thursday 6 pm: Captivating (Women Only) (Virtual)

Women Empowering Women. Conversations to encourage your faith.
Thursday 7 pm: Racial Reconciliation (Virtual)
Led by: Iris Goicochea (Bi-weekly: 9/29,10/13,10/27,11/10)
Real talk about real issues. Participate in the conversation about racial reconciliation.
Thursday 7 pm: How Do You Walk the Talk You Talk? (Virtual)
Led by: Baron Whitfield (6 weeks starting 9/29)
You are surrounded by a world that’s watching you, waiting to see if what you say is true–if you really believe what you say and “walk the walk you talk.” This study of vital passages from Ephesians will help you discover what God says about the lifestyle of a true believer.
Friday 11 am: Support Group (Virtual)
Led by: Maggie Labocki
Provide a safe place to get support for any type of unhealthy patterns, habits, and/or dependencies. Discuss challenges and helpful coping strategies (Email counseling@nyack.edu to join)
Saturday 10:30 am: Organize His Way (Virtual)
Led by: Alicia Morera Tirado (5 sessions: 9/24,10/1,10/15,10/29,11/12)
“Organize His Way” reveals how our clutter keeps us from experiencing God’s intimacy and blessings.
