AGSC Hooding Speaker: Pastor Todd Tilghman, Winner of “The Voice”

Every Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary graduate may not be destined to take the hope and light of the Gospel into a remote village abroad, a corporate boardroom, a prison education classroom or the emergency room of a medical facility. Some may find they are called to take Christ into culture. Wherever God leads, the Nyack/ATS community celebrates their successes.

Past commencement ceremonies have been held at Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY featuring speakers from the fields of business, politics, ministry and education. These public figures have shared motivational and inspirational words for the milestone send-off.

This year, COVID-19 restrictions required a transition to virtual ceremonies. Dr. Antoinette Gines-Rivera Alliance Graduate School of Counseling (AGSC) dean was persistent in her search to invite a speaker for the August 18 hooding and commencement ceremony for her new alumni. As a result, a pre-recorded message from Pastor Todd Tilghman of Cornerstone Church in Meridian, MS will be shared. Pastor Todd is the Season 18 winner of NBC’s vocal competition, “The Voice.”

Todd Tilghman has been in full-time ministry since 1997 and the lead pastor of his congregation since 2011. He is married to his high school sweetheart of nearly 22 years and they are the parents of eight beautiful children.
