Master of Professional Studies
The Master of Professional Studies (MPS) degree at Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS) is a two-year program designed to prepare leaders for church and kingdom ministry in any cultural context. In the development of specific ministry skills, we focus on spiritual formation, biblical and theological formation, and missional formation.
Studying at ATS is a transformational, multicultural experience. Our students come from over thirty different nations and fifty different denominations. There is power in such diversity, and it is one of the key elements that sets us apart from other seminaries. Your ATS education will intentionally integrate biblical and theological truth with sociology, anthropology, and other disciplines, thereby preparing you for effective, holistic ministry.
Students will learn and practice integration of the personal, theological, and practical components of holistic ministry. Some areas of study include:
Biblical studies and theology
Integration of biblical truth and theology with cultural contextualization
Practical and empowered ministry skills
The MPS degree is designed to provide training for enhancing one’s ministry focus in the local church setting. You will be equipped to work in numerous contexts, including:
Associate church personnel (e.g., treasurer, teacher, counselor, service coordinator)
Christian educational ministries
Discipleship and spiritual formation support ministries
Our graduates have gone on to pastor local churches, lead national and international parachurch organizations, serve as pastoral counselors, and lead in a variety of international ministry and discipleship contexts.
