Master of Divinity
The Master of Divinity degree is a comprehensive, three-year program designed to develop leaders for church and kingdom ministry locally and cross-culturally. Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS) does this by focusing on three formational areas: spiritual formation, biblical/theological formation, and missional formation.
The M.Div. at ATS is a transformational, multicultural experience. Our students come from over thirty different nations and fifty different denominations. This powerful diversity is one of the key elements that sets us apart from other seminaries. Your ATS education will intentionally integrate biblical and theological truths with sociology, anthropology and other disciplines, preparing you for effective holistic ministry.
Students will be able to understand and practice integration of the personal, theological, and practical components of holistic ministry. Some areas of study include:
Biblical studies and theology
Integration of biblical truth and theology with cultural contextualization
Practical and empowered ministry skills
Students who complete the M.Div. degree at ATS will be equipped for a variety of leadership opportunities. For example:
Further study in the theological disciplines
Missional leadership in the church and parachurch organizations
ATS graduates have gone on to pastor local churches, lead national and international parachurch organizations, serve in a variety of international ministry and discipleship contexts, and participate in unique entrepreneurial opportunities that aim at humanitarian support and justice. Many of our students have also continued their academic pursuits and earned their D.Min. and/or Ph.D.
