Nyack Giving Frequently Asked Questions
Is my gift to Nyack College tax-deductible?
Most certainly. Nyack College is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. Your gift to Nyack College is tax deductible as allowed by law.
When should I send my year-end gift to count for the current tax year?
If you are making a gift to the college by check and would like the tax benefit for the current calendar year, the envelope must be postmarked by December 31. If you are making a gift by credit card please do so by the last business day of the year.
I am an alumni, how do I help increase the alumni giving percentage?
Giving once a year, at any level, helps the college maintain and improve its alumni giving percentage. This percentage factors into college rankings! More importantly it indicates the support of our alumni for the mission of the college, a very important factor for any stakeholder in Nyack College.
I'm celebrating my reunion this year. Where should I direct a reunion gift?
Class gifts are a celebrated part of the reunion year. Like any alumni gift, participation is more important than dollar amount. If you are giving a check make it payable to Nyack College, and note your class year on the check so that we can credit your class. If your spouse is an alumni of Nyack College, they will also receive class credit.
I didn't attend Nyack, or I attended but didn't graduate. Is it unusual to be a non-graduate donor?
Many of Nyack College's greatest supporters graduated from another school. If you believe in the mission of Nyack College we welcome your support.
How do I actually make a gift?
If you would like to give by credit card you can either do so online here, or phone Michael Scales, Director of Development, at 845.675.4428.
If you would like to send a check in, you can send it to:
Office of Advancement
1 South Boulevard
Nyack, NY 10960
Please let us know where you would like to direct your gift.
Can I determine how my gift is used?
The online secure giving allows for gifts to the Student Support Fund, a previously established Scholarship Fund, or an "other" link where you can specify what department or student ministry you would like to give to.
Unfortunately you may not indicate the name of a specific student and receive a chartible gift receipt.
Is there an annual giving society that I can join?
The President's Council is specifically designed for this purpose. You can read more about the President's Council here.
