“Truth & I”

Saturday, October 14th, 4:00 PM

Truth & I—Jordan (‘12) and Alethea (‘13) Wilhelm—are School of Music alumni who have been writing music together since 2011, when they were students at Nyack College. Sharing their great love for American music of all kinds, this wonderful duo from Cleveland, OH will showcase their vocal harmonies and strong melodic lines in original songs and fascinating instrumental work. To date, they have released two full-length albums, Floorboards (2013) and This is Living (2015); and two EP’s, Share Their World (2014) and A Midwestern Christmas (2015). The Wilhelms are currently based in New Jersey and perform primarily in the Tri-State area. This event will also be webcast online at www.nyack.edu/wnyk. Carol & Candlelight

Dr. Glenn Koponen & Prof. Jennifer Scott, Directors

69th Annual holiday favorite, performed by Nyack College’s Handbell Choir, Women’s Chorale, and Brass Ensemble.  Seasonal music ranging from classical to contemporary, from carols to spirituals, and carols from England, France, Austria, and the United States will be performed.  The program will conclude with a deeply moving Candlelight Ceremony.

A free-will offering will be taken to benefit the cost of the annual Carol & Candlelight Tour

Nyack College Chorale

Prof. Joel Jameson, Director, Asst. Prof. of Music, Head of Vocal department and Director of Choral Activities

Nyack College Chorale performs its annual program of traditional lessons and carols. The concert shares the story of the birth of Christ through scripture readings, songs by the chorale, organ, harp, carol singing, and a special guest performance by Artist in Residence, Prof. Shelley Jameson.

Established in 1968, the Wind Ensemble is comprised of students, faculty, and community musicians performing works for concert band under the direction of Dr. Glenn Koponen.  Selections by the Nyack College Handbell Choir, directed by Jennifer Scott, will also be performed.
