The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)’s Commission on Accreditation has accredited the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Nyack College. Students in the 63-credit program can choose to concentrate in Clinical Social Work Practice or Leadership in Organizations and Communities.
The CSWE awards accreditation to both bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programs in the United States. Through its rigorous accreditation process, program competencies, practice behaviors, evaluation procedures, program activities are reviewed to assure students that the program maintains standards of excellence and implements best practices in the field of social work. The next accreditation review will be in June 2022.
Dean of the School of Social Work, Dr. Kwi Yun (pictured), commented “My heart is filled with gratitude for all those who have worked so hard to make this happen, particularly program director Dr. Janet Furness, who worked day and night to prepare the report and executed this task faithfully and successfully with the support of faculty members, who met countless times to pray and share ideas and wisdom.”
Comments from faculty, staff and graduates captured at a MSW hooding ceremony speak volumes about the success of the program at Nyack.
Congratulations to Dr. Yun, Dr. Furness and their faculty and staff on this milestone moment!
