Chorale Spring Concert – A Musical Celebration of Christ’s Life

Nyack College School of Music will present its 2018 Spring Concert featuring the Rockland campus Chorale on Sunday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Pardington Hall located at 45 South Blvd. in Nyack.

The program, from early church to contemporary music and spirituals, will be conducted by Prof. Joel Jameson. Director of the Chorale for the past 15 years, Prof. Jameson calls this annual concert, “a musical celebration of Christ’s life” as the text of the anthems reflect Christ’s birth, ministry, passion, death and resurrection. Craig Williams, David Maiullo and Cristy Norfrey will be accompanists. Prof. Shelley Jameson will be a featured soloist.

The program will conclude with “A Blessing,” the benediction composed for the Nyack Chorale in 2006 by the late Dr. Paul Liljestrand. Dr. Liljestrand, the former Nyack Chorale director and music professor, was also a prolific composer who took his music students on many tours of Europe and the United States.

Prof. Jameson commented, “I felt it the most fitting way to end our concert by giving him a moment of honor.”

Admission is free. All are welcome.
