Personal Questions
Tell us about your spiritual journey.
I was raised in a Pastor's home and came to know Christ as my Savior at a very early age. After a season of rebellion in my teen years and early college, I committed my life to serving the Lord. I was filled with the Spirit in February on 1987 and my life and ministry were radically transformed. I am longing for another season of revival in my life and the church where God's Holy Spirit is poured out for renewal and world evangelism.
Tell us about your family
I have been married to my wife, Wanda (formerly Haggerty), for 20 years (August 18, 1984). She is the Director of Spiritual Formation at Nyack College. My oldest daughter Kelly is 16. My son, Brice, is 14, and my two youngest daughters are Karis, 12 and Karly 11.
Any outside interests or hobbies?
I love to golf, fish and cheer for any sports team from Pittsburgh, PA
How were you led to Nyack and/or why are you here?
God called Wanda and I to come back to Nyack after conducting Spiritual Emphasis Week here in winter 1999. We believe God has asked us to be agents of spiritual renewal for the CMA. Raising up and preparing the next generation of Christian Leaders is one of the ways we hope to accomplish that goal.
What does your faith mean in your classroom or discipline?
Without a vibrant faith in Christ, Pastoral Ministry becomes nothing more than a career as opposed to a Calling. Each course I teach involves spiritual and life transformation.
What does your faith mean in relationships (particularly with students)?
I believe more may be accomplished outside the classroom than inside through mentoring and discipleship. Students are in our home and in my office with great regularity.
What are your favorite courses to teach?
PMN 346 - Personal Spiritual Formation
PMN 441- Leadership & Administration
What is/are your favorite book(s)?
Ragamuffin Gospel & Abba's Child by Brennan Manning
Power Evangelism & Power Healing by John Wimber
