"Faith & Justice for the Common Good"
The mission of the Institute for Public Service & Policy Development is a faith-based academic center located at Nyack College's Capitol Hill campus in Washington, D.C. that prepares people for national and international government and non-profit service. The Institute is dedicated to integrity and committed to achieving authentic justice for the common good. The I.P.S. functions as a place where differing multi-partisan views can be addressed with civility, respect, honesty and trust; a place where thoughtful solutions to the challenges of contemporary society can be sought. Programs at the Institute for Public Service & Policy Development include public lectures, symposia, workshops, a certificate program in urban community development, an undergraduate study semester and a developing graduate program.
"The Work of the I.P.S."
Currently, the Institute for Public Service & Public Diplomacy is sponsoring a
lecture series in conjunction with the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) regarding Christian Contributions to the Middle East conflict.
In Fall 2010, the I.P.S. will launch a
Community Development Program (CDP) to provide knowledge and practical skill-based training to faith and community-based service providers to enhance their ability to serve their constituents.
