 | New York State Aid (TAP) TAP (Tuition Assistance Program)
The State of New York leads the nation in providing free money for college in the form of the TAP grant. TAP is a need-based grant. Only NY State residents may apply. The TAP award on your Award Letter is an ESTIMATE. The final award will be determined by NY State once you get a TAP Award Notification through the mail. TAP awards range from $500 - $5,000 per year.
Step-by-Step-how to apply:
1. Complete the FAFSA online.
2. Complete the ETA (Electronic TAP Application) online at the end of the FAFSA online application or click here once you have completed the FAFSA.
3. Follow up on the status of your TAP award.
