The physical sciences are an essential foundation for several majors, including Education, Biology, and Computer Science. They are also an important knowledge foundation for all liberal arts students. The Department of Physics enthusiastically offers quality courses that cover the physical sciences and which also offer a Christian perspective on science. We currently offer courses in astronomy, physics, and physical science (a survey course).
· Explain basic physical concepts and apply them to real-world problems.
· Describe the scientific process of observing phenomena, conducting experiments, making models, and verifying hypotheses, and apply the scientific process in laboratory experiments and projects.
· Demonstrate basic laboratory and mathematical skills necessary for the scientific process.
· Describe and analyze how a Christian view of the world harmonizes with science.
