Music Grants and Scholarships

Invitational Music Scholarship Competition:

All incoming students who audition by March 24th will be considered for “call back” to the Annual Invitational Music Scholarship Competition. Awards from $4,000 to $10,000 per year are awarded to outstanding musicians and are maintained by following the requirements established by the School of Music.

Music Ensemble Achievement Grants:

Grants of $1,000 per year are awarded to qualifying incoming students in any major for participation in a School of Music Ensemble. Audition required.

All prospective students who audition are automatically considered for a music grant at the time of their audition.
To be considered for the awards listed above, at least two classical pieces must be presented at the audition. Repertoire requirements may vary by degree program; please contact the School of Music.
The grants are for new, full-time students attending Nyack College in Nyack, N.Y. Please refer to the Nyack College Catalog for more information concerning eligibility for and maintenance of Nyack College Grants.

Schedule Your Audition

You may set up an appointment by contacting the Music Office by phone (845) 675-4687 or email: musicoffice@nyack.edu.

An accompanist is available if you cannot provide your own. Please fax (845) 348-8838 or email musicoffice@nyack.edu a copy of your music at least one week before your audition date for our accompanist to practice.

Applicants who reside more than 200 miles away are welcome to send a recording (CD or DVD format or link to YouTube or Facebook video) in place of a live audition.

The School of Music will notify students by letter concerning acceptance into the music program or an ensemble grant

For prospective students to be accepted as Music Majors/Minors, and/or to be considered for a music grant or scholarship, the following audition days are held in conjunction with Nyack College’s visit days:

FALL 2011: October 10th, November 14th
Spring 2012: February 20th, April 16th
