Each year Nyack welcomes transfer students from colleges and universities around the country and world. On average, 200 transfers enroll in the fall [100 at residential campus in Nyack and 100 at NYC campus] and 100 transfers enroll in the spring [35 at residential campus in Nyack and 65 at NYC campus]. Our goal is to make your transition as smooth as possible.
Who is considered a transfer student?
A transfer student is anyone who has completed at least one full-time semester of coursework at another college or university after graduating from high school.
Do I need to submit my SAT/ACT scores?
Although it is not required, scores are helpful in the acceptance process.
Are there grants for transfer students?
Students transferring at least 20 credits are eligible for a grant based on GPA.
Is there an orientation program for transfer students?
A transfer orientation program is held in the spring and fall. It is designed to provide a smooth transition to Nyack.
Complete the Nyack College Prospective Athlete Information form and submit it to the Department of Athletics with any tapes and/or STATS you may have. The Nyack Warriors athletic facilities, practices and events are located in Nyack, NY.

Transfer Students must get their transcripts evaluated by WES (www.wes.org). Also a certified Affidavit of Support from an individual or agency guaranteeing financial support to the student for education in the United States is also required.
Before being accepted to Nyack, international students are required to make a deposit of $2,000(USD). Once accepted, a Certificate of Eligibility I-20 form will be issued. The I-20 form is used to apply for the student visa (F-1).
More Information for International Students
After we receive all of your completed application materials, you will receive notification of your admission status. The Director of Admissions may require a personal interview or testing for placement purposes.
After your acceptance to Nyack:
- Students attending the NYC campus will need to pre-register for classes.
- Students attending the Nyack, NY “residential” campus must submit a tuition deposit of $100 before pre-registering for classes and applying for housing. The $100 deposit for the Fall semester is refundable until May 1 of the enrollment year.
- After your acceptance, the Health Services Office will contact you about health forms.
- A financial aid assessment will be made once you are accepted for admissions AND have completed your FAFSA.

STEP TEN: Deposits
All incoming students are required to make a deposit if they are serious about enrolling. The deposit is credited to your account and will be reflected on your bill from Financial Services. The Tuition Deposit allows us to create a class schedule. The Room Deposit secures your room. International Students Deposit of $2000 includes both the Tuition and Room Deposits.
