Welcome to the School of Human Services
We are preparing the next generation of counselors, psychologists, social workers, and sociologists who will integrate the knowledge and skills acquired from the social sciences with the wisdom of Scripture.

 

It is our mission to educate students who will impact their communities as they fulfill God’s calling to:

“heal the brokenhearted,
proclaim liberty to the captives,

open the prison to those who are bound,…

(giving) beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,

the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,”

(Isaiah 61:1-5, NKJV)

Nyack President Michael ScalesReaching Milestones Commencement 2009 was a glorious day! Our 550 graduates—literally surrounded by a great crowd of witnesses—were absolutely euphoric as they crossed the stage at Westchester County Center. On the "pride" barometer, I think I was running neck and neck with their families and friends. I am so proud of the accomplishments of our new alumni! Each one has a unique story and that tapestry of testimonies crosses racial, age, gender, and socio-economic lines. They started differently, but they all made it to the finish...
