Bachelor of Arts in Music


Nyack’s bachelor’s in music affords students the opportunity to study music primarily from a liberal arts perspective. This program is designed to serve students with solid intellectual interests and a commitment to aesthetic and artistic values.

What Will I Study?

Music majors will take courses in the liberal arts and sciences, Bible and Christian ministry, and the following music components:

  • Music Theory and Ear Training

  • Music History and Literature

  • Music Technology and Studio Recording

  • Music and Worship

  • Private Applied Lessons

  • Performance: Individual and Ensemble

Career Opportunities

Depending upon the secondary areas of concentration, graduates of this program are prepared for careers in music-related fields, such as church music ministries, music business, management, marketing, public relations, recording, radio and television, music theater, and communications. Students may also pursue graduate studies in musicology, music education, and other music-related fields.
