Meet the Director of Online Programs at ATS
Dr. Christopher Dost is Assistant Professor of Hebrew Bible and the Director of Online Programs at Alliance Theological Seminary. Dr. Dost earned his B.A. from Western Connecticut State University (Danbury, CT), where he studied jazz bass. During the course of his undergraduate studies, he felt called to pursue theological education. He studied Bible at Nyack College in 1999 and soon after enrolled in Alliance Theological Seminary’s Master of Arts program in Old Testament, which he completed in 2003. He subsequently earned two additional master's degrees and a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible at The Jewish Theological Seminary (New York). His research is focused on the transmission of the Hebrew Bible, and he is the author of The Sub-Loco Notes in the Former Prophets of Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (Gorgias, 2016) and a number of book reviews and Bible dictionary articles. He is currently preparing two major works for publication. The first is a transcription of scribal notations in a medieval manuscript of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the 12 Minor Prophets. The second is a new English translation of the Aramaic Bible that he and a small team of scholars are preparing for publication by Baylor University Press and Accordance Bible Software. He lives in Nyack, NY, with his wife Michelle and their four daughters.
