Dr. Stanley John

Dr. Stanley John joins us as the new Full-Time Intercultural Studies Professor at ATS. He is a member of the Indian diaspora, born and raised in Kuwait. He is passionate about forming leaders for missions in a context of world Christianity. As an itinerant evangelist, he has traveled annually to the Middle East and India. He is a frequent speaker among immigrant churches in North America.

Steve Nehlsen

Steve Nehlsen is professor of Christian Witness and Intercultural Studies. He and his wife, Amy, have served with the Christian and Missionary Alliance for 22 years in West Africa in Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso. They have 3 children Abby, Kari and Peter (23, 20 and 16).

Steve has a Bachelor in Missions and a MA in Cross-Cultural Communications. He is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Missiology program at Western Seminary. Steve was born in Africa and grew up speaking 3 languages. His work in Africa has been involved in training leaders, evangelism and was field leader for 5 years.
His passion for developing strong, global Christian leaders and seeing the Word of God communicated contextually cross-culturally comes across in his classroom teaching

Amy Nehlsen

​Amy Nehlsen M.Ed. is the Coordinator of Alliance Graduate School of Missions. Amy brings a deep desire to see students fulfill God’s calling on their lives. Her role as coordinator for the department enables her to assist in mentoring and advising students, as well as overseeing all departmental activities. Her heart for the Alliance Graduate School of Missions is to build an authentic community where students learn from each other, and grow in their walk with Christ as they prepare to serve God around the world.

Steve and Amy enjoy frequent trips back to Burkina Faso, West Africa where they still are active Board Members of Dorcas House and are involved in Biblical training of men and women in French and Jula
