“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal."

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Nyack College NYC Student Government Association (SGA), led by Secretary Landai Barnes, hosted a Black History Month celebration on Thursday, February 26th. The program included special tributes to Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Mahalia Jackson, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Numerous students contributed to a wonderful program that honored the lives and sacrifices of African American heroes. The program culminated with stunning performances from the Living Waters Dance Ministry and the Christian Folk Ensemble. As students went off to their 6 PM classes, they grabbed some traditional foods including delicious collard greens and sweet potato pie.
