Dr. Joyce Simons Honored at Kingdom Justice Chapel

Dr. Joyce Simons, Nyack's Dean of the Division of Academic Support Services, was honored at the Rockland campus during the Kingdom Justice Chapel on January 13, formerly known as the annual Social Justice Chapel, a prelude to observing the federal holiday named for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.


Interim President Dr. David Jennings, presented the award to Dr. Simons, who has been a member of the Nyack faculty since1995. The plaque inscription reads, Nyack College presents this award with sincere appreciation for your contributions to building the Nyack College community through outstanding leadership and sacrificial service.


A former Director of Nyacks Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), she is also a professor in the School of Education. Dr. Simons earned a B.S. at Cornell University; and the M.A., Ed.M., Ed.D., all from Teachers College Columbia University.
