Mr. Earl Miller, Nyack’s Executive Director of Community Relations, will be a panelist at an event, “Civil Rights: The Last 100 Years,” on Wednesday, June 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Rockland Community College in the Cultural Arts Theatre Auditorium in Suffern, NY. Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef with the NAACP of Spring Valley, NY and the Rockland County Commission on Human Rights are co-sponsors.
In addition to Mr. Miller, panelists will include Mr. Caesar Andrews, Pulitzer Prize winner and professor of journalism; Dr. Richard Deats, Civil Rights pioneer and recipient of 2009 Social Justice Award; Dr. Edmond Gordon, Prof. Emeritus at Yale University and founder of the CEJJES Institute; Dr. Travis Jackson, educator and civil rights activist; Ms. Lillian Jimenez, co-founder of the National Association of Latino producers; Dr. Stella Marrs, community activist and human rights liaison; Chief Dwaine Perry, Ramapough Lenape Nation; and Mr. Charles Pryor, director of student activities at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
