The Nyack College School of Music will host Jitro, The Czech Girls’ Choir from Hradec Kralova in concert, Friday, February 25 at 10:00 am in Pardington Hall on the Rockland campus.
Jitro, which means, “daybreak” in Czech, is more than a concert choir from Hradec Kralova, a town in the Czech Republic. Only 25 or 30 children in the 500-member organization qualify to tour. For more than 30 years they have been admired for their tonal brilliance, superb intonation, and rich blend of sound. The choir makes more than 100 appearances each year and has performed in prestigious concert halls internationally and across the United States. Jiri Skopal, Ph.D. has been the conductor and artistic director of Jitro since 1977. This concert is open to the public.
