Dr. Hwang earned her Doctor of Nursing Science degree at Columbia University School of Nursing and both the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Nursing at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing, and was a recipient of the Predoctoral Minority Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health.
A registered nurse in both New York and California, she is currently a family nurse practitioner and a facilitator for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Dr. Hwang has co-authored several published papers, which have appeared in professional periodicals such as the American Journal of Public Health and the Journal of Public Health Management Practice. She has also made presentations at the Mid-Atlantic Meeting of the Society of General Internal Medicine and the American Public Health Association.
Committed to community outreach, Dr. Hwang serves as a volunteer nurse for the Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York. She previously volunteered with AIDS Case Management at Westside Community Mental Health Center in San Francisco, CA and at the Community Health Center in Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea.
Dr. Hwang’s office is currently located in Shuman Hall on the Rockland County campus.
