Nyack College will welcome C.S. Lewis scholar, Dr. Michael Ward on Tuesday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Pardington Hall and on Wednesday, February 6 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 200 at the New York City campus. The Anglican clergyman, author, and speaker is currently on a six-month international tour and will discuss his latest book, Planet Narnia: The Seven Heavens in the Imagination of C. S. Lewis in which he argues that Lewis secretly based the Chronicles of Narnia on the seven heavens of the medieval cosmos. Since 2004 Dr. Ward has been Chaplain of Peterhouse in the University of Cambridge. Between 1996 and 1999, he lived and worked at The Kilns, C.S. Lewis's Oxford home. Planet Narnia was published by Oxford University Press. Amazon.com describes Ward's work as "a ground-breaking study that will provoke a major reassessment not only of the Chronicles, but of Lewis's whole literary and theological outlook, revealing him to be a much subtler writer and thinker than has previously been recognized."
