Nyack College School of Music December Concerts

The School of Music on Nyack College’s New York campuses in Rockland County and Manhattan is home to a wealth of talented singers and musicians who perform locally, regionally and abroad. During this holiday season, several free concerts are scheduled to showcase the musical gifting of our students, faculty and staff.

Mark your calendar and plan to enjoy these free performances!

WINTER CONCERT: Rockland Campus, Monday, December 11, 8:00 PM in Pardington Hall, 45 South Boulevard, Nyack, NY 10960, directed by Dr. Glenn Koponen and Prof. Jennifer Scott.

The program will feature the Nyack College Wind Ensemble and the Nyack College Handbell Choir. The Wind Ensemble is comprised of students, faculty, and community musicians performing works for concert band under the direction of Dr. Glenn Koponen. Selections by the Nyack College Handbell Choir, directed by Jennifer Scott, will also be performed.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Tuesday, December 12, 7:30 PM at Central Baptist Church, 166 West 92nd Street, New York, NY 10025

The New York City Chorale, accompanied by the Orchestra of Tomorrow and conducted by Damien Sneed, will perform works by Arcangelo Corelli, John Rutter, Robert Shaw, Darmon Meader, Kirk Franklin, Damien Sneed and Quincy Jones/Mervyn Warren. Also performing are Purpose, the Nyack Gospel Choir directed by Prof. Willana Mack and the Jazz Ensemble directed by Darryl Jordan.
