A Christmas Tradition: The Festival of Lessons and Carols

Posted by Deborah.Walker on Tuesday December 5, 2017

The Nyack College School of Music Chorale on the Rockland County campus will perform its annual program of Lessons and Carols on Tuesday, December 5 at 8:00 PM in Pardington Hall, 45 South Blvd. in Nyack, NY. The program will be conducted by Prof. Joel Jameson, associate professor, head of the vocal department and director of choral activities.

Widely known as “The Festival of Lessons and Carols,” this is a worship service of Scripture and song made popular in the late 19th century. The program consists of nine lessons that convey the Fall of man, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News. A special guest performance will feature Prof. Shelley Jameson, artist-in-residence.

Admission is free. All are welcome.
