Michele Pinkham will join the Nyack College staff in July 2007 as the Dean of Students for the Rockland campus. Michele has served in Christian higher education for nearly 14 years, both in and outside the classroom.
A proud 1992 Nyack alumna who earned a bachelor's degree in English, Mrs. Pinkham completed her master's degree in English from Baylor University in Texas. Her experience with students includes serving as a tutor for student athletes at Baylor to teaching conversational English at a women's university in Shimonoseki, Japan.
Michele has been a Resident Director for the past ten years, first at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN and currently at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. She says the most fulfilling aspect of her job is "watching students grow" and growing alongside them. "Students push the hard questions right back at you." From her viewpoint, her role in Student Life is one that forces self-examination. "You have to make sure you are taking the advice that you give and that you are living authentically."
Michele and her husband, Kevin, are the parents of two children, Emma, 10 and Ethan, 7. The Pinkhams will live on the Rockland campus and are delighted to be a part of the campus mentoring team.
