Nyack College Manhattan campus School of Music students and alumni were among the more than 100 singers selected nationwide to be a part of the National Masterworks Festival Chorus in a concert at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage on June 15.

Robert Aviles, Gabriel Charles, Katherine Class, Angelica Garcia, Yessica Lopez, Amanda Maysonet, Gail Meeks, Lauren Navarro, Zoë Prawda, and Tessa Tokke (pictured above during a rehearsal break) performed with the New York City Chamber Orchestra and other professional soloists in the event sponsored by Manhattan Concert Productions.

Says Nyack School of Music professor, Dr. Elizabeth Swanson, (back row, third from left) the event was “a successful performance of selections from Handel's beloved Messiah under the baton of Maestro Patrick Dupré Quigley, who is at the vanguard of a new generation of young Baroque and Classical-era specialists. Quigley is also a GRAMMY award nominee. The performance received a standing ovation! Thanks be to God for inspiring such a timeless musical masterpiece and for His guidance throughout this musical experience!"
